Swordle Byre
Sleeps 10
The converted byre is a stylish combination of old and new. The original walls and courtyard remain, however the interior is fresh and modern – the large living area has a traditional log burning stove, and a 42 inch wide-screen television with satellite tv.
There is plenty of living and sleeping space here for large families or groups. In total there are five bedrooms, three double and two twin, all of which are en-suite. Although advertised as sleeping ten, one of the double rooms has a single sofa-bed – ideal as a family room – and the small upstairs lounge also has a double sofa-bed.
The kitchen has cooker, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher and fridge-freezer. There are two additional toilets by the entrance.
A five minute walk along the private road takes you to the white sands of Swordle beach. Mid-summer sunset here is breath-taking, when the sun finally sinks behind the Cuillins of Rum late at night it remains just below the horizon until daybreak. In winter the byre is a cosy retreat after bracing walks along the rugged coast or surrounding hills.
